Yes, you can typically use a 5G SIM card in a 4G LTE router. However, the router will only be able to utilize the 4G LTE capabilities of the SIM card and won't be able to access 5G networks or take advantage of their higher speeds. So while it will work, you won't get the benefits of 5G technology with a 4G LTE router.
