SIM Based Router with Failover
More and more LTE sim based routers are used in M2M&IoT Projects and playing the key role in the field.
LTE SIM based routersare an evolution of the cellular connectivity that historically provided Internet access to your cellular phone. LTE is a standard for wireless broadband communications for mobile devices and data terminals, based on the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA technologies.
In some applications failover is a required feature of LTE SIM based router. What are failover and failback? And why it is important?
Failoveris a protective feature that switches over your primary operations on a computer server or entire data center to a redundant standby system or network through a cellular LTE SIM based router.
Often in these scenes, Wired WAN work as primary data link first, LTE Cellular
link work as secondary or backup link; when primary link failed or off line,
secondary link will auto switch online to ensure of data’s constant go through. Moreover it can support that when primary link
resume, sim based router can auto switch from secondary to primary even if
secondary link is online.
By definition, this failover is critically important in the performance of a data center, remote site or branch office. It makes good sense to equip your data center with the tools to prevent or minimize downtime, but there are financial reasons as well. Data centers are comprised of mission-critical components such as routers, switches, KVM’s, servers, storage and appliances that serve as the backbone of your IT infrastructure. Having a secondary network access and control to the data center, and its network infrastructure is called Out-of-Band Management. Every data center and remote site should have a dedicated out-of-band network to improve overall network resiliency, performance, support upgrades and local network repairs, and reduce response times for outages.
Failover is often used in single sim card router our dual sim card router for various kinds of cases especially for those projects requiring keep online data pass through.
